How deep, how wide, how much indeed!

I have really enjoyed reading today:

"That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God."
Ephesians 3:16-20

I have so enjoyed spending time with God digging into this verse.  Every word is such a rich promise and pouring of love, what hunger this stirs in my heart to ask God where He wants to use the strength & love that He abundantly has poured into my inner being- I can never say I have nothing, that I am empty- I have all of God poured in- filled in fullness- and dwelling deep in me- this is so beyond my  understanding that I can't help but praise Him.

What are you reading that challenges you to press deeply into Him??

  1. This verse has been a favorite for years, and one that I claimed for a relative of mine, and prayed this pray for her, that she might truly come to know the love of God!

My entry way is always a mess, lol! With all the wind and rainy weather and people tracking things in and out (not to mention animals) it's hard to keep the floor looking neat!

  2. I love this verse! I just started reading the book of James. It is really challenging me. I don't want to read and forget - I want to apply the Word to my life and let it change me.

  3. Thanks Carolyn for reading my blog and the comment! It's nice to see someone from Australia...wow. I enjoyed reading around your blog also. The verse Ephesians was such an encouragement to me this morning. I'm headed home for Thanksgiving with the family and some hard conversations. Praying for God's strength and wisdom.

  4. I've been in Romans lately. I like to parallel the ESV with The Message and I love how it translates chapter 5:3-5

"We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!"

    Good stuff!
